The Trail
Once you’ve paid and entered the park, the hiking parking lot is on your left. The trailhead is pretty obvious and well-marked. Mt. Philo has a few trails to choose from, but we took the Summit Trail.
From beautiful stone steps to wooden stairs, the trail keeps things interesting as you head up. Almost at the top, you’ll spot an obvious little detour, take it! This viewpoint has gorgeous views of Lake Champlain and the Adirondack Mountains.
Once you’ve had your first taste of that view, keep going you’re almost there!
The Summit
At the top, you’ll find Adirondack chairs for lounging and picnic tables for snacking with a view.
And remember Mt. Philo isn’t just for hikers! You can drive to the peak, rent a cabin for small events, or even camp at one of the three lean-tos or one of the 7 tenting campsite.
